Vintage Glam North Texas Wedding Captured by Ben Q. Photography | Hannah + Eric
June 8
THEIR STORY: Hannah and Eric met at one of Eric’s fraternity parties during their sophomore year at the University of Arkansas and soon were in the same group of friends. The pair got to know one another better when they were in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. Both got separated from their groups of friends and ended up hanging out together on Bourbon Street. Of course, they started dating after that weekend!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: In June 2014, Hannah and her mom were visiting Hannah’s sister in Paris, where she and her husband were stationed for the Air Force. When Hannah’s dad flew in on the last week of their visit, the group went sightseeing. On the way to lunch, the family was walking past the famous “Love Lock” bridge where couples put padlocks with their names written on them on the railing of the bridge and throw the key into the Seine River to represent their love for each other. While Hannah’s mom and dad, and sister and her husband each wrote their names on their padlocks, Hannah saw Eric standing on the other side of the bridge. Hannah walked over to him, and he immediately knelt down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Not only was this the best surprise, but they also got to spend the next week exploring Paris to kick off their engagement.
VINTAGE GLAM: Hannah and Eric’s wedding was a mix of vintage and glam in a soft, romantic color palette of pink, peach, coral, mint green and cream with gold accents. Hannah used a paper print from Rifle Paper Co. as the inspiration for the color palette and incorporated it into details throughout the wedding, such as in the invitations and programs. Their cakes were hand-painted to match the paper print, and each table had different floral arrangements in vintage milk glass vases next to wedding-themed prints in gold vintage frames.
SPECIAL TOUCHES: The sweetheart table was one of Hannah’s favorite details. They had a gold glitter tablecloth, their own place settings with monogrammed napkins and a gorgeous garland going over the table. It was so nice to be able to sit and eat dinner together, and steal a few minutes alone during the reception.
