Victoria Payne and Nicholas Ross’ DFW Wedding at Hickory Street Annex Captured by Tyler + Lindsey
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Victoria and Nick met on a snowy day at the University of North Texas. They both got to campus early to finish a project in the computer lab. As Victoria was leaving the lab, she noticed he was packing up his things so she lingered in the hall pretending to be on the phone. They struck up small talk as they walked out of the building, but the steps were icy and Victoria fell… hard. Nick started to laugh while she attempted to play it cool despite tripping on the icy steps. The fall made for a good icebreaker and they started walking to class together each day. He finally asked for her number, and the rest is history!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Nick proposed on a camping trip in Vermont the week before Thanksgiving 2015. The couple got to the campsite, set up their tent and left to go on a quick hike around the lake. About halfway around, Nick asked if Victoria wanted to take a break and enjoy the views. A few moments later, he said, “Hey, look at this cool rock I found.” She turned around and he was down on one knee! They celebrated with plastic champagne glasses and mini champagne bottles he had snuck into his backpack with the ring.
THE SETTING: Hickory Street Annex has an open loft feel. Downstairs there is a beautiful bridal suite and cocktail hour space, upstairs looks out to downtown Dallas. They chose the venue because it has a perfect mix of the industrial and modern vibe that Nick likes, but still feels romantic and charming, which is Victoria’s preference.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: The bouquet had a textured, soft feel with mainly blushes and ivory with pops of burgundy. Dahlia, garden roses, white and black anemone, ranunculus, mini roses, astilbe, dusty miller and mixed greenery flowed out of the ivory-wrapped arrangement.
VENDOR LOVE: The wedding photographers, Tyler + Lindsey went out of their way to make the planning process and wedding such a special time. Aside from being available for any questions Victoria and Nick had, they received uplifting notes, marriage advice, and even a few packaged surprises in the mail. Tyler + Lindsey were a lot of fun to be around and were always smiling!
