Katherine Weaver and Ronald Ringwall’s Rustic Watercolor Wedding at The Laurel

THE PERFECT PROPOSAL: Katherine’s family decided to go to her grandparent’s home in Galveston, Texas, for her mom’s 50th birthday party. She invited Ron, but unfortunately he couldn’t go. Little did she know that Ron planned for her mom’s birthday to take place in Galveston and he was planning to surprise Katherine! The weekend came and Katherine’s mom told her to look nice for beach pictures for their Christmas card. They took lots of pictures and suddenly behind her she heard, “Can I take y’alls picture for you?” Katherine recognized the voice and turned around to see Ron! He said, “I have one more pose for you,” and got down on one knee and proposed.

THE SETTING: Katherine and Ron booked The Laurel from seeing only an artist rendering. Even though it was a leap of faith, they loved that it was an all-in-one venue close to the city and airport, and that it reminded them of the Texas Hill Country. It has lots of wood, exposed beams, big windows and stone details to perfectly contrast with the feminine colors and floral. Katherine wanted rustic, but not country, and this was the perfect solution!

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: One of the most memorable moments was having the grand entrance under a sword detail by some of Ron’s U.S. Navy friends. Passing under each arch, one must share a kiss in order to pass. After passing under the last sword arch they yelled, “Welcome to the Navy, Mrs. Ringwall!”

VENDOR LOVE: Shannon from The Laurel was incredibly helpful for Katherine throughout the entire planning process and answered any questions she had at any time. Jennifer Trotter from Lip Service Makeup made Katherine feel so beautiful and had her full trust. Tyler and Lindsey were with Katherine and Ron for four photo shoots throughout the engagement.
