Vows that Wow — Ashton & Carter

How the Couple Met

College sweethearts Ashton and Carter met at Baylor University. A grade above her, Carter knew about Ashton through her brothers, who happened to be in the same fraternity as him. Ashton’s sorority and Carter’s fraternity hung out with each other frequently, so the couple was acquainted through mutual friends. It wasn’t until Ashton moved to Dallas for nursing school that Carter asked her out on a date. The rest, as they say, is history!

The Wedding Day

As many wedding celebrations do, Ashton and Carter began the festivities with a rehearsal dinner the night before. Guests enjoyed a meal by Vestals Catering at a gorgeous Denton venue. The next day, the bride and her maids were dolled up by Tease to Please Hair and Makeup before Ashton slipped into her gown from StarDust Celebrations.

The couple said “I do” at The Nest at Ruth Farms. It was the perfect blend of modern and rustic for these two lovebirds! Each of the spaces was elevated thanks to stunning florals from Vella Nest Floral and decor from Posh Couture Rentals and BBJ La Tavola!

Alongside beauty was heartfelt meaning during the ceremony. The couple’s faith was an integral part of the service. “We are Christians, and we incorporated a prayer time into our ceremony where we got to spend time with our family praying while all of our guests prayed over our marriage as well,” writes the bride.

After a heartfelt ceremony, the bride received a new hairstyle from Tease to Please Hair and Makeup before heading to the party and getting newlywed portraits done by the talented Ellen Ashton Photography.

Everything came together under the leadership of Mothers & Daughters Design House⁠. “We hired her from start to finish, so she helped us with every little decision throughout the entire planning process and was so knowledgeable and plugged in to the wedding community.” It’s safe to say the day went off without a hitch!

Ashton & Carter’s Favorite Moment

“My favorite memory of our wedding day was our first look and the private dinner we did as a couple,” writes the bride. “Those were both very special moments that we got to experience just the two of us — to take in all that happened during our wedding day and to celebrate our new marriage together!”
