Kick your heels off and indulge in this sleek, bold and refined reception inspiration made for the modern bride. Like a butterfly garden dream, Catie Ann Photography captured these beautifully light-filled scenes around the breathtaking new Thompson Hotel that prove your event can feel both luxurious and organic, as well as modern and timeless, all at once. A floor installation from Blue Posy Designs seemed to grow right out of the ground and its pastel petals give a sense of wild elegance, accented with blooms in darker raspberry shades. Bouncy, springtime centerpieces elevate the tablescape set with lush linens and place settings from POSH Couture Rentals making this whole scene feel like a mod garden party. Menus from Brown Fox Creative let your guests know what kind of culinary crafts are in store for your luxe reception meal, and we love how they keep with the delicate theme of this springy invitation suite. A vivid berry lip takes center stage in this bridal beauty by Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup, and we love that her eyes still pop but take a backseat along with her sleek, low pony. This bride model’s chic fit-and-flare gown from Elizabeth Scott Bridal carries a simplistic elegance that is just perfect for the occasion. Top the whole affair off with pies of all shapes and sizes made from scratch at Batch Bakery so you can be sure your wedding treats cater to every taste! Read on from a word from Blue Posy Designs, Hazelwood Paper Co. and Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup about some of the dreamy details that went into creating this butterfly wedding reception inspiration. From Lauren with Blue Posy Designs: “The butterfly garden theme was so dreamy. When I was coming up with my ‘recipe’ I was trying to stick with the inspo color palette, but also go with variations that you would naturally see in a garden. I added more of the darker raspberry shades to the bouquet because I knew that it would really pop against her dress and her bold raspberry lip color. For the centerpieces, I wanted them to be luxurious but still have the garden vibe, and I wanted them to really compliment the stunning butterfly place setting. I made the centerpieces larger, and very floral heavy with various “bouncy” flowers and floral dimensions to give them the nontraditional garden feel. For the floor piece, my main goal was for it to look like It was a small piece of wild flower garden coming up from the floor. That allowed us to use more greenery and blooms of various heights to give it real dimension. I used roses (mother of pearl, pink mondial, primavera), kahala peach garden roses, butterfly ranunculus, lavender clematis (my favorite), raspberry spray rose, and scabiosa, and some blue delphinium and white snapdragon to give it some good height texture and dimension.”

From Kristin with Hazelwood Paper Co.: “This suite features a floral and butterfly adorned gate card enclosure in a bright, cheery color scheme. We love the soft violet wax seal and finishing touches of vintage postage stamps in blue, green and purple!”

From Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup: “Sleek, elegant and bold… This look is all about the modern bride. Our model’s naturally full pout inspired the focal point on this one, a vivid fuchsia lip! A hot pink, fuchsia or bold berry is always a fun choice that reads feminine and fierce all at once. Eyes are soft neutrals with a bit of color theory trickery… I blended a yellow mustard shade into a mix of taupe and brown shadows. Why? Although it’s blended well so your eye doesn’t see ‘yellow’, it’s there… and it opposes blue on the color wheel, so it really spikes up the blue in her eyes! Fluffy faux mink lashes trimmed to her eye shape, softly defined brows, glowy skin and flushed cheeks finish the look. For hair, a sleek, low pony lets the makeup shine and doesn’t compete with the elegant gown.”
