5 Hot Trends from New York Bridal Fashion Week

We’re still on cloud nine after getting to see all of the beautiful gowns from New York Bridal Fashion Week! With some of the best and recognizable bridal fashion designers in the world converging on New York City, we couldn’t wait to share a glimpse of all of their amazing gowns with our followers via live Instagram coverage thanks to bridal buyer Christina Plumlee at The Bridal Salon at Neiman Marcus! When all was said and done, we compared our notes together and pulled our five favorite trends from New York Bridal Fashion Week and the amazing Spring 2016 collections!

Three-Tier Skirts

3-tier-skirtsAdding a little whimsy to these already feminine styles, models walked three-tiered tulle skirt designs down the Bridal Fashion Week Runway. This added volume gives each design just enough bounce and flow to make the bride seem as though she’s gliding through her wedding. (Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier)

Capes & Capelets

Capelets

What a surprisingly fab accesory for your bridal look! Capes and capelets made their way down the runway transforming your classic bridal look into a fashion-forward style! Have your own Gweneth Paltrow moment – we all remember the white cape red carpet look – in one of these stylish designs. (Peter Langner, Mira Zwillinger)

Corset Details

Bodice-Boning

Designers were taking the inside elements of bridal gown structures and exposing them this season. Inspired by the corset, boning was exposed and fitted bodices made an appearance. This look makes adds a chic touch to any style of silhouette. (Austin Scarlett, Reem Acra)

Asymmetric Backs & Necklines

Asymetric

One look we imagine we’ll be seeing in many weddings to come is the asymmetric necklines and backs! Floral appliqués ran over illusion necklines, sexy cutouts were trimmed into bodices, and designers used structure and textures created these playful designs. (Monique Lhuillier, Sareh Nouri)

Floral Embellishments

Floral-Embellishment

We couldn’t be more in love with this feminine trend! Texture of all kinds are in this season but the 3D floral embellishments were up and down the runway! Flutter and flow all the way down the aisle with these floral beauties! (Mira Zwillinger, Marchesa)
