SWEET BEGINNINGS: Ashley and Jon met in college at Texas Christian University after simultaneously changing their majors. Talk about fate! Although the couple had lots of mutual friends, they hadn’t crossed paths until one August morning. Jon sat next to Ashley on the first day of class. She walked into class after him and he got up from his seat to move next to her! After that day, he made a point to fill everyone in on his new crush. Ashley found it equally cute and hilarious, and after a year of friendship and occasional flirting, she finally caved, and they’ve been inseparable ever since!

PERFECT PROPOSAL: After graduation while both living in Arizona, Ashley and Jon came to the conclusion that they wanted to call Texas home. Once jobs were secured in the Fort Worth area, Jon promised a proposal at some point in 2015. When December rolled around, Ashley started to question if Jon would ever propose! He finally surprised her with tickets to Bass Performance Hall for The Nutcracker for her birthday. After enjoying their evening at the theater, they found themselves alone on an empty street. Surrounded by Christmas in Fort Worth where they had first met, Jon popped the question! The couple was ecstatic to share the intimate moment camera-free, just the two of them. It is a memory they will always cherish.

THE SETTING: Ashley and Jon’s garden party wedding could be described as traditional and classically southern. Add a dash of wildflower and you’ve got yourself the most charming celebration perfectly representing this sweet couple.

BEST ADVICE: Ashley’s best advice to future brides is to have a backup plan. The weather in Texas is stressful! Tornados and thunderstorms were predicted in the days leading up to the big day. Surprisingly, a chilly and sunny spring morning was the true result. For this bride, the stress was totally worth planning a spring wedding in Texas because they ended up with the most amazing weather.
