Chicago proposal

Fatima and Bisi were spending the day outdoors on a warm Chicago afternoon with just enough wind to keep them cool. From Millenium Park, they walked past one of the many summer festivals and got on their bikes heading north along the lakefront trail. They pedaled towards Lincoln Park, and along the way Bisi reminisced about that day they biked to that park with that perfect view of the city with a ferris wheel nearby, and suggested that they go there again. And so, they biked to Milton Lee Olive Park, docked their bikes, and enjoyed the view and their time on the grass. People around them were taking photos with the skyline and Bisi, who hardly takes any pictures, offered to take Fatima’s photo. Of course, she agreed! While he was getting her good angles and photographing a shot of Fatima admiring the city, he dropped to one knee and pulled out a little box. Fatima turned around to see the photos that he’d taken and there he was with the biggest smile. He said some sweet words and asked, “Will you marry me?”

CASSIDY + CHARLES

They’ve seen the world together

Cassidy and Charles found love at the University of Oklahoma in 2015. They had met a couple of times through mutual friends and soon became best friends themselves. Charles built up the courage to take the next step with Cassidy when he asked her to go on a date with him to the movies. Cassidy had always seen Charles as more than a friend, so she said yes, of course. Charles and Cassidy soon became official in their relationship and all their friends knew they would be married in the years to come. Cassidy showed Charles her hometown, Fort Worth, Texas, and he met her parents who just absolutely adore him. Cassidy and Charles adopted their sweet puppy, Brodie, in October of 2018 and he has brought them nothing but joy ever since. Brodie is so happy that his humans are getting married. Cassidy and Charles have been all over the world together. They have snorkeled in the Dominican Republic, kayaked in Austin, swam the lagoons in Capri, sang in Sorrento, wandered the streets of Rome, celebrated in New Orleans, romanticized in Charleston, wined down in Napa Valley, partied in Gulf Shores, boogie boarded in Florida, explored the Cliffs of Moher, danced in Dublin and got engaged in Kilkenny! Charles and Cassidy are looking forward to many more adventures together, and are so excited for their loved ones to join them on this magical day.

Met at summer camp

Zach planned a sneaky ski trip to Winter Park Colorado and proposed in a snow covered, winter wonderland. He kept it 100% a secret and caught me totally by surprise! We took our engagement photos at Flippen Park and White Rock Lake. Zach and I met while we were working at a summer camp and these photos really brought us back to our fun camp memories by the lake and running around outdoors! We had so much fun at this shoot! Megan made us feel so comfortable and gave us a serious case of the giggles which gave us so many amazing shots to choose from! We’re getting married on April 25, 2020, at Gleneagles Country Club!

Got engaged on the same date as her parents

From the groom: I began planning the proposal after Carly left to go back to TCU. I had asked her dad for his permission to marry her in late August. The only thing I knew about the proposal is that I wanted it to be a surprise. Carly loves surprises (as long as she is the one doing the surprise), so I thought she would appreciate a surprise of her own.

When I approached her dad to ask for his permission to propose to his amazing daughter, I had a few dates in mind for when I would like to pop the question, but one date stuck out in mind and I could not figure out why. Once her dad and I started talking about the proposal, he asked if I had any date ideas, and I mentioned the date that I ultimately settled on: October 28, 2017. After a pause, he brought to my attention that this specific day is the same day he proposed to Carly’s mom 27 years prior; I had no idea. I didn’t need to hear anymore, that was the date. We lost Carly’s mom just over a year ago, and I wanted to honor her mom’s memory in this way.

A couple of months later, I had the proposal planned out exactly as I wanted. For two weeks leading up to the proposal, I began writing a letter to Carly to read when I proposed. I knew that I would be nervous and forget everything if I didn’t write it down, so I penned everything I wanted her to know. I wanted it to be intentional so that she would understand how much I love her and also have something to go back and read whenever she wanted.

The day finally arrived and I was more nervous than ever. I had been coordinating with one of Carly’s friends at TCU, and she helped me get Carly to the nail salon the day prior and ultimately to the proposal site – The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. I had written a note to Carly explaining what was going to happen. After reading the note, she rode to the proposal spot. I was standing at the top of the steps under one of the arches at the Kimbell when I saw her step out of the car; she looked beautiful, and it didn’t take me long to spot that gorgeous smile on her face. She finally got to me, and I took her hand and began reading the letter. After I finished, I set the note down, got down on one knee, looked into her beautiful blue eyes, and asked her to marry me. Before I could even finish the question, she was already saying “YES!” I have never been more excited for my future!

He proposed on the land they built their home on

Austin and I have been dating for eight years and married for three months! We knew each other in high school but didn’t start dating until the summer of our freshman year going into sophomore year of college. The rest is history!

Austin’s proposal was absolutely everything I could have ever imagined. He proposed on the land that we built our now home on. It is sentimental and heart warming knowing that he proposed in the place that we will spend the rest of our lives at and be able to tell and show our future children the exact spot he proposed at! It’s been an amazing eight years of being together and an even more amazing three months of marriage, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

Proposal above a little mountain town

Graham and I have known each other since we were 13. The first time we met, he held my hand in a movie theater. Soon after, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Soon after that, he broke up with me over AOL instant messenger. We quickly became best of friends. Although, I have to admit, I always hoped for something more. We remained friends all through high school but grew apart when we went to different colleges. That changed however, when he reached out to me and said he would like to take me to a Rangers game. When I saw him again, I had the same spark as when I was 13. We started dating after that game. Six years into the relationship we took our annual trip to Lake City, Colorado, where his family has a summer home. He took me up to a bluff looking over the small little mountain town. It was actually the very first place he took me the first time we went to Colorado together. We talked for awhile, and he asked me what my favorite thing about Lake City was. I said something lame that I can’t even remember now. He responded with “my favorite thing is being here with you, and I want to bring you here as my wife” he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My knees went weak and my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I couldn’t believe that Graham wanted to marry ME of all people. It felt like a dream, the man that I longed over for so many years. It’s an incredible feeling to be loved by someone as deeply as you love them.
