While we love perusing beautiful wedding after beautiful wedding, it’s always so fascinating to hear the ins-and-outs of the planning process. North Texas wedding planner Lindsey Zamora Events shared her insider tips and notes on the details she styled for Molly and Niki’s picturesque fall wedding in today’s Wedding Walkthrough. The couple incorporated many special traditions throughout, which of course, we were excited to explore! Read on to get to know this exception local planner.

Traditions were intertwined throughout the celebration from the crowning and procession in front of a breathtaking gilded altar at the Orthodox ceremony to money being thrown in the air by the Kum as the couple exited the church to symbolize prosperity for the newlyweds. A Serbian band from Chicago kicked off the reception, while Serbian vocalist Angela Suboitc and famous singer Zoran Kalezic added to the evening’s unforgettable entertainment.

From the planner: “It’s my job as a designer to understand what my client wants, even when they may not. Together, we let the design evolve organically. Molly selected a color palette of sage, evergreen, ivories and navy. I then presented options and choices. From font color of invitations to the way the napkin is folded, I helped guide the design with the overall vision and mood in mind. This wedding had so many traditions, which made it super fun! Niki is Serbian, so think of ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ and that is basically what this wedding was!”

“When there are different cultures within a wedding, there is always a learning curve. It was so fun to learn as we went along this wedding journey. As we were learning traditions, we were booking important key vendors, while simultaneously working on and evolving the design.”

“The head table was a favorite — gold starburst chargers sat behind a jade runner with a lush garland. Antlers and sage ribbon were tucked strategically into place. Not only did the flowers create a wonderful aroma, but each guest received Juniper incense as their favor; adding another outdoorsy element.”

“I think it is so important as a creative to always push yourself, learn and grow. Did I know upon booking what all a Serbian wedding entailed? No, but we figured it out! Of course I did my research and consulted with the families on what was important to them and what traditions they wanted to incorporate. It’s fun to figure it out together, and more importantly, learn together!”

From the bride: “I’ve been told by many, many people it was the ‘wedding of the century,’ and the best wedding they’ve ever attended. It really was beautiful and the food was phenomenal… and the Serbian traditional chola dancing late into the night was so lively they even broke the dance floor!”

We’ll be dreaming of this Spanish love affair for weeks to come thanks to the incredible design and styling of North Texas wedding planner Silver Lining Events + Co. Inspired by the European architecture of Aristide – Mansfield and the model bride’s vintage Spanish lace lined dress from Bridal Boutique, the scene was set with dripping vines, a touch of candlelight and vibrant, feminine hues. Lush Couture Floral artfully designed the round floral altar, adorning the backdrop in magenta Bougainvillea, the prettiest pink peonies and greenery galore! The bride looked absolutely stunning alongside the altar scene in her cascading, illusion-back gown with and intricately twisted updo and bold beauty look from Grand Slam Glam. Complementing the altar’s eye-catching florals, the sweetheart table was topped with a similar array of blooms, a collection of delicate dinnerware pieces from Top Tier Event Rentals + Staffing and a custom crest-embellished menu for each setting designed by Hazelwood Paper Co. Guests for this special event were sure to be instantly wowed with a gift bag curated by The Welcome Box, complete with champs, heart-shaped biscuits and a custom bouquet painting by local artist Seibert Studios. An array of tapas from Vestals Catering and a show-stopping, hand-painted cake by Loft22 Cakes await the celebration. From the planner, Elisabeth Landry of Silver Lining Events + Co.: “Focusing on soft fabrics, lush blooms and a vintage Spanish lace lined dress, I created a wedding ceremony space replicating the stone walls of Spain and dripping with vines, Bougainvillea and rich Spanish culture. Candles framed the bride along with loose blooms behind her and candles at her feet. We used bold colors in our floral and kept all other details soft and neutral.”

Often times weddings planners spend their careers planning weddings and events for others, but when the time comes for their own special day, magic happens! Today we’ve got a treat for our readers as Jordan Sutton of Olive & Nine shares her Wedding Walkthrough for her own wedding day! Using the trendy dusty blue hue against the white space of The Nest at Ruth Farms, her own spring soiree with hubby Michael was picture perfect from top to bottom. From the planner: “Our vision was simple and thoughtful. We wanted each guest to know that we appreciated them. Time is a gift and we were grateful that so many traveled from far and wide, and even close, to make the wedding day perfect.”

“We incorporated hues of dusty blue and lots of greenery to add to the existing beautiful white space. The ceremony was outside near the pond and the reception was inside, so we had the best of both worlds!”

“We wanted everyone to know how much it meant to us that they were there, so our seating chart was a letter box filled with hand written letters of thanks to each of our guests with their table numbers written on the outside. As they walked into the space, we wanted everyone to experience a day as we would want it, so fittingly we had everyone eat cake first as they sat down for the reception. Our cakes were centerpieces in hopes that this would create community around the tables and encourage people to get up and move around to find other flavors and mingle with other tables. ”

“Considering this was a wedding planner’s wedding, I wanted to make it simple, and I wanted to throw myself into the little details. I think that’s what makes a wedding special!”

“Last but not least, since Michael works for Bell Helicopter, we wanted to leave in one! We arranged a helicopter exit and flew away in an aircraft that he works with day in and day out!”

It is a little embarrassing how excited we can get over pretty paper and beautiful calligraphy work! Introducing the all-new Fall/Winter 2018 issue and the dashing couple to grace the cover – Olivia Pajda and Anthony Onofrio – captured by the fabulous Dyan Kethley Photography! This sweet image totally won us over with the couple’s joyful charm and their cheerful bridal party following in step. While we received hundreds of beautiful submissions, we knew this image was the perfect fit for the August issue. Bride Olivia looked absolutely stunning in a classic satin fit and flare Essense of Australia gown from Patsy’s, A Bridal Boutique, complete with a golden detail sash and long train, carrying an overflowing bouquet of pink and white peonies crafted by Root + Bloom Floral Design. Groom Anthony complemented his bride flawlessly in a classic tux and bow tie. We can’t wait for you to see their organic industrial wedding at Hickory Street Annex on pages A13-16 of the new issue (featuring the cutest nearly naked cake by Sugar Bee Sweets and delicious bites from Gil’s Elegant Catering)!
