Ivory Winter Wedding with Vintage Flair for the Modern Couple

Thursday, August 26th, 2021

If you’ve ever considered a winter wedding, this one – in shades of ivory, black and white with modern details and vintage flair – is absolutely sure to inspire you! Caroline and James said “I do” in the midst of the infamous North Texas winter freeze, but inside, their day was nothing short of warm and magical. Laning Photography documented the day perfectly, capturing all the details designed by talented DFW wedding planner Artisan Rose Event Co. Guests were welcomed to the reception by a stunning black seating chart and moody, intimate tables with modern black accents as they enjoyed dinner and dessert from Vestal’s Catering and then accommodations by Hotel Crescent Court. The bride opted for an understated aesthetic with vintage flair, including a sheath gown from Bridal Boutique and cathedral veil from StarDust Celebrations. Paired with their vintage getaway car, ivory roses and baby’s breath galore, this wedding perfectly married traditional and modern!

From the bride on how they met (the cutest wintery story for a winter wedding couple!): “James and I met at a Christmas party in 2016. I didn’t expect to meet anyone new, let alone my future husband, so I was sporting what was basically the tackiest Christmas sweater known to man. Fortunately for me, James loved it. Later, there was a white elephant gift exchange and we both ended up choosing each other’s gifts! We met as we exchanged what were the two most random gifts at the party, and we hit it off instantly. He invited me to yet another Christmas party the following weekend, but it was one that he was set to host at his house in Dallas. There, I met more of his friends who are like family to me now, and whose wives are some of my best friends and bridesmaids in my wedding. After one of the most fun nights, James told me that he was starting to get feelings for me and wanted to get to know me more. We went on our first date shortly after and the rest is history!”

A Classic Affair With Dazzling Gold Accents

Tuesday, August 24th, 2021

Take a scroll through this classic blush and white affair with dazzling gold accents and you’re sure to swoon just like we did! Kaiya and Jacob celebrated their love with a romantic, traditional wedding at Aristide McKinney. White blooms and linens gave the venue a crisp canvas that could then be infused with subtle pops of blush and eye-catching gold accents. The bride looked stunning with a long, flowing hairstyle paired with an open-back gown that looked ravishing next to the groom’s classic black tuxedo from Generation Tux. Striking centerpieces, gold chargers and metallic blush bridesmaids dresses all contributed to the dreamy aesthetic of Kaiya and Jacob’s big day, captured with gorgeous images and videography from Pharris Photos + Films. The couple, who met their freshman year at Baylor University and got engaged at The Dallas Arboretum, had to pivot with their plans several times due to Covid, but their summer celebration was sure worth the wait!

From the bride on her favorite memory: “For the both us, our wedding day honestly felt like a blur that went by too fast. It has been great being able to look back at photos and see how happy everyone was and looked like they were having a great time. A favorite moment for us was the reception and seeing everyone dance and have fun but another favorite moment was reading and listening to each other’s wedding vows and feeling like no one else was there and just focusing on one another.”

White Rock Lake Engagement in Blue & Rust Tones

Friday, August 20th, 2021

Anna and Brendan look like the perfect pair, posing for breathtaking shots by Sami Kathryn Photography in their adorable White Rock Lake engagement session. The pair first met after swiping right on Bumble! Brendan had just moved to the lone star state from Florida for his job and Anna was finishing up nursing school, so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. After chatting, they agreed to a date and never looked back!

Now, they are happily engaged and Anna is radiant with that pre-wedding glow (and a little extra hair and makeup magic by Tease to Please Hair and Makeup)! In their mid-November nuptials, the couple is planning for a minimalistic, modern bohemian vibe with lots of neutrals at play. A pop of rust to accent champagne and taupe tones will be a fall wedding dream and it doesn’t stop there! Day-of coordination will be handled by Blissful Weddings & Events, we’re excited to see décor from POSH Couture Rentals, guests will enjoy bartending by HD Liquid Catering AND an intimate guest list is also in the plans to keep things cozy. “From the start of our wedding planning, we mutually envisioned our special day to be a day where our love is celebrated and we are able to spend meaningful, quality time with the ones who matter most!” Anna says. “We narrowed down our guest size to 50-70 guests for more of an intimate wedding vibe!” We love that idea, their scenic lake engagement, and now we’re counting down until we can see the photos and videos The Lockharts capture on their big day as well! Read on to hear from the soon-to-be bride about how Brendan asked Anna in the sweetest proposal story below. Cheers to the future Mr. and Mrs. Keane!

From the soon-to-be bride: “We enjoy traveling and taking weekend getaways and this time it was to Austin, Texas. Brendan had planned dinner reservations at our favorite upscale Mexican restaurant on Friday night. The entire day it had been raining until dinner time! We got dressed up and on the way there Brendan suggested we take some pictures at Mount Bonnell since we had never been! Little did I know, on the edge of a cliff he would propose and record it from his phone on our tripod (in which I thought we were posing for pictures) and hire a photographer to capture it all! It ended with a champagne toast and the sweetest surprise!”

Rococo and Roses | French Art Wedding Inspiration at The Olana

Thursday, August 19th, 2021

Nothing pairs like rococo and roses, and this French art wedding inspiration proves that and more in grandiose scenes of champagne, mauve, artichoke and tuscan red around The Olana. In an impressive collection of efforts from so many incredible local vendors, this styled shoot is giving radiant morning walk through a luxurious mansion garden, so much so that we could swear we were in 18th century France. A solo bride and romantic couple model throughout weddingscapes where every element was soft, petal-like and velvety with touches of metallic from rococo details. Décor from POSH Couture Rentals consisting of gold leaf goblets, beaded ivory damask table linens, rosy napkins and more set the standard for a luxe dining experience. Simultaneously, centerpieces from Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe were comprised of Cappuccino, Quicksand, Sahara and Spray roses while butterfly ranunculus, hellebore and other blooms add diversity and texture to every artful installation. Each element is so unique while carrying the same Baroque undertones, like this exquisite two-tiered cake inspired by François Boucher’s The Triumph of Venus, 1745. With so many thoughtful inclusions, it was only fitting that videographer Alex Adkins Creative was on the scene to capture this French art wedding inspiration in full, moving detail – watch here. Explore it for yourself in the gallery below. Cheers!

An Intimate Wedding with Moody & Classic European Vibes

Thursday, August 19th, 2021

Natalie and Daniel said “I do” surrounded by just about 30 of their closest loved ones, and after navigating wedding planning during the height of the pandemic, finally got their beautiful wedding full of moody, classic European vibes and complete with a longtime wedding staple: red roses!

Blissful Weddings & Events helped plan their day and brought Natalie’s visions to life, with acrylic chairs, grand vases and more classic European-style decor from Posh Couture Rentals elevating their reception look and stationery and calligraphy from Ladybird Paper setting the mood. Natalie and Dan went with the most classic European style for their day, keeping the color scheme simple and letting the details shine. Vestals Catering rounded out the night with a delicious meal for their intimate reception.

Scroll down to see a few of Natalie and Dan’s incredible fine art portraits – we’re especially swooning over the one of Natalie coming down the stairs in her timeless gown from Stanley Korshak! With lots of family heirlooms, pops of deep red and meaningful details sprinkled throughout, this moody, classic European wedding day was one for the books, no matter how big or small!

A favorite memory from the bride: “Walking down the aisle and being surrounded by the people that have supported us over the years was the most incredible feeling while walking towards my future husband. Seeing the joy after so much anticipation filled my heart with excitement for the future.”

Cheers to the New FW21 Issue and a New Website!

Brides of North Texas FW21 Issue and a New Website!

Without further ado… we are thrilled to unveil the cover of our Fall/Winter 2021 issue captured by the talented Sara Boyd Photography! This downtown Fort Worth rooftop elopement shoot, designed and styled by Celebrate Dallas at The Sinclair Hotel, had so many incredible photo moments to choose from, but ultimately, this romantic moment stole our hearts. The couple’s aesthetics totally fit the jewel tone design brought to life with a jaw-dropping floral altar installation by Kate McLeod Studio using hellebore, fritillaria, roses, ranunculus, lisianthus and snapdragons in hues of deep mauve, burgundy, mustard and light pink and a boho rug and candlesticks from Loot Rentals. The bride wore the Grace Loves Lace Monet gown with a fitted bodice, low-V back, slim long sleeves and a full circle skirt with pearl drop earrings, while the groom (dare we say, a young Heath Ledger look-a-like) was dashing in a burgundy shawl tuxedo with a black satin bow tie. The feminine lace gown was complemented by a low, textural, twisted chignon, paired with a mauve and pink shimmer eye and mauve-nude lip by the artists at Tease to Please Hair and Makeup. The bride’s 18k white gold diamond flower engagement ring and the groom’s Greek key print band, provided by L’Unique Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, were the perfect finishing touch.
