Something Blue Wedding Inspiration with a Touch of Fine Art Style

The talented planning team at Julep Events took the age-old wedding tradition of incorporating “something blue” to the next level in this soft blue wedding inspiration where both colorful and classic looks were captured in true fine art style by Kelsey LaNae Photography. With bits of the trending regencycore style peeking through, we fell hard and fast for this styled shoot set in the lush gardens of Hotel Crescent Court where this team of creatives worked with the natural greenery and added extra florals only where truly necessary. Whimsical pastel petals from Kate McLeod Studio frame an outdoor ceremony scene and pop up in blooming installations all around, while watercolor details carry over from paperie by Illustrated Weddings by Lola Lorena to a fancy four-tiered cake complete with edible, abstract blue design.

The artists with Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup styled this bride with simplistic yet high-drama hair and makeup in neutral tones just perfect for a blue wedding like her perfect power pony and smokey eye that later converted to a chignon updo and deepened eye makeup. She looked breathtaking as she modeled stunning two different Vera Wang gowns from Stanley Korshak Bridal Salon – first, a high-neck gown with an illusion neckline and flaring mermaid gown followed by a modern off-the-shoulder style with ruffled bodice detail and dreamy tulle sleeves. Read on for a note from the photographer about the vision and design behind this blue wedding inspiration and how it was executed so flawlessly even despite a location change. Cheers!

From the photographer, Kelsey LaNae Photography: “Planner Julep Events and I wanted to create a modern, yet cheery pastel color palette full of dreamy, luxe details. The unique bouquet with monochromatic, watercolor stationery added to the sleekness but kept the fine-art look that is always a part of my brand. We actually initially had the shoot scheduled at Nasher, but when they put a pause on shoots, we had to move it to a different venue (the iconic Hotel Crescent Court) which turned out to be the perfect setting. Even with the change in venues, we kept the same art-inspired designs to combine chic minimalism – the modern lounge, the bride’s simple yet striking style – with a timeless quality that can work in any setting. We did a colorful look and then did a more classic look!”
