We were swooning over the St. Pucchi line just last Friday in one of our fashion posts before we received the official news that Candice Crawford, new bride of Dallas Cowboys quarterback star, Tony Romo, worked with the designer of the label, Rani Totman, to make some modifications to a St. Pucchi gown she fell in love with years prior to even meeting her beau. Stardust Celebrations, exclusive local retailer of the St. Pucchi line, based in Plano, Texas, had the lucky honor to work with Candice each step of the way.
We spoke with Stardust directly to get the inside scoop on just what it was like to work with Candice from start to finish on her custom St. Pucchi gown, who shared that they met Candice almost a year before at their store while she was filming an interview. They recalled that she walked around the store and said, “someday when I get married, I’m going to wear St. Pucchi” and just a short time later, Candice booked an appointment and brought her mother, grandmother and others close to her into the store to try on gowns from the line and begin the collaboration to make the gown “exactly right,” said a source for Stardust. “There were a lot of drawings and sketches involved” and our source’s favorite element of the design was the modifications made to the back of the dress which was originally-designed closed but altered to feature a key-hole back that “looked absolutely beautiful on her.” “She was such a sweet girl – such a genuine nice person.”
The glorious off-white gown featured “a textured bodice that showcases hand-crafted dimensional cutwork embroidery in a floral pattern accented with delicate ostrich feathers, rhinestone jewels and crystal beading,” Totman explains. We love the pure silk duchess satin billowing skirt, fit for their fairytale wedding. Our sources shared that the train could actually be completely detached or bustled. “Working with Candice on her wedding gown was a true pleasure,” Totman said. “It was an incredible experience watching the dress come to life on her.” Totman has dressed some of the world’s most discerning brides, celebrities and style icons, and her avant-garde designs have been featured worldwide.
Candice Crawford wed Tony Romo just last weekend in Dallas at the iconic Arlington Hall.
