SWEET BEGINNINGS: Carissa and Tyler met on a youth group trip with their church in 2005. Tyler was a small town country boy and Carissa was a city girl with a bohemian flare. They didn’t start dating right away. On Friday nights in high school, she played in the band while he was the football star on the field. Years went on, and the two remained close friends through high school and college. After graduating college, Carissa decided to pack up her car and visit Tyler in Beeville, Texas. On their first date, Carissa watched him destroy a pound of ribs while she ate a salad. They played card games and drank their favorite whiskey after. After beating her at every card game, Tyler took Carissa for a late night frog gigging in the creeks. Some girls might have been scared away by this interesting date, but Carissa found it exciting! They soon started their relationship together, and their love story started to write itself.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: The couple’s engagement took place July 5, 2015, in Cabo San Lucas. The two went to a beautiful, romantic dinner at El Farallon. After they finished eating, they went on a romantic walk along the beach where they were almost taken out by the tide. Once making it to dry land, Tyler knelt down on one knee and proposed. Carissa was completely surprised! With tears in her eyes, the newly engaged pair walked back up to the restaurant where Carissa’s whole family was waiting to celebrate.

ORGANIC BARN WEDDING: Carissa and Tyler celebrated with an organic barn wedding. They kept the decor simple with light hues and bunches of greenery. The color palette included white, navy blue, light yellows and grays. They incorporated white marble, quartz, mirrors and some touches of country flare.
