SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lauren and Dan met through mutual friends at The Flying Saucer in Addison on Labor Day. Despite sitting on opposite ends of the table, Lauren and Dan still managed to hit things off. Lauren eventually moved to sit next to Dan and was pleased to find the conversation easy, intriguing and hasn’t stopped since!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Lauren and Dan were leaving for their annual trip to England to visit Dan’s family. Once in London, the couple traveled to their hotel in a rental car. Despite being hit by a London cab driver and getting lost a few times, the pair finally arrived at The Blakemore Hyde Park Hotel. After a romantic dinner at an Indian restaurant, Dan dragged Lauren to the Millennium Bridge, the place where the couple did their first lovelock. In an attempt to recreate the moment and add their latest piece to the bridge, the couple closed their lock and threw the key into the river below. In that perfect moment amongst the perfect scenery, Dan got down on one knee and asked Lauren to spend the rest of her life with him. She said YES!
WORLDY AFFAIR: With guests from six different countries, Lauren being from Fort Worth and Dan from England, the couple wanted to make their special day a worldly affair. Lauren wanted her wedding to be timeless and classic so they incorporated small touches to make their day unique and personal. She focused mainly on golds, neutrals and blush colors for the wedding, and pulled some pastel spring colors through the florals as well.
PRETTY PAPER: The invitations, menus and programs were created by Felderhoff & Co. and were designed on ivory paper with a gold font. The main invitation was backed with gorgeous gold paper. The couple also included a custom watercolor map of DFW with important locations marked on it for visiting guests. The ivory envelope also had a custom map of Dan’s hometown – Weymouth, England! These unique elements helped kick off Lauren and Dan’s worldly affair wedding.
