Summer may be just getting started, but this autumn countryside engagement session from Meggie Taylor Photography has us dreaming of cooler weather and the sweet photo opportunities that come with it. Sweaters and snuggles galore! For Adalee and Nate’s engagement session, Meggie followed the couple to the bride’s home in Rockwall, Texas, for a gorgeous shoot full of dreamy golden hour light and the sweetest emotions. How special for these photos to be taken in the very spot the bride grew up! Be sure to scroll all the way down to see how this couple met and what their wedding day will look like!

From the bride: “Nate and I both went to Baylor University and met through mutual friends. I hardly knew him when I asked him to a function, but since then he has been my permanent function date! For the proposal, Nate coordinated with an employee at Baylor and had her call me to invite me to this dinner in which I got to host a donor to the University. I show up at the event, and a man at the door told me ‘my event had been moved’ and escorted me to this area on the river where Nate was, ready to propose. Once I happily said yes, we walked over to a boat that he had covered in lights and had dinner ready for me. We boated off down the river to a surprise engagement party with all of our family and friends! It was an absolutely thoughtful and perfect evening.
Our wedding colors are navy and blush. I would describe the style as soft, romantic and timeless. It is hard for me to stray from the classics! The flowers are one of my favorite details, because we got to sit down with our florist and choose flowers one by one in order to craft something beautiful and bold. I cannot wait to see the final product all together!”
