SWEET BEGINNINGS: At the time, Courtney was a mortgage lender, so she had asked a colleague of hers if she knew any financial advisers that could serve as potential referral partners. Courtney’s colleague told her she knew someone who worked with financial planners and would introduce her — but would rather she go on a date with him. Courtney wasn’t interested in a date but would take the business. Later, she and James met at a Starbucks for business and once more for a “follow up” coffee meeting. It wasn’t long before Courtney received a text from James asking if “her busy schedule happened to allow time for dinner.” Courtney suddenly had some openings!

THE SETTING: Courtney and James were the very first wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyeard. She and James went to view the property with only a slab of concrete. There, the owner described everything that it would be, and they left trusting her vision, agreeing to book their wedding! Dove Ridge has amazing views, beautiful landscaping and qualified staff that accommodated Courtney and James’ wedding day needs better than they could have ever imagined.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Courtney’s most memorable part of the wedding was the rain. Courtney chose to keep the wedding outdoors — the view was worth the risk! Unfortunately, as the ceremony began, so did the rain. Many guests were obligated to use umbrellas, and the officiant cut the ceremony short for attendees, but Courtney didn’t mind being in the rain. She would gladly stand there again with wet hair and smudged makeup if it meant she could repeat their vows in front of family and friends.
