Elizabeth Pachas and Jay Otterbine’s Dallas Wedding at Warwick Melrose
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Elizabeth and Jay pulled up to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and Elizabeth was left wondering why they were going to a garden in sweltering Texas weather. They walked into the gardens and Elizabeth could see one of their friends filming them from the bushes. She began to ask Jay if that was their friend and why he was there; she didn’t connect the dots so quickly! They walked to a beautiful area of the gardens surrounded by big oak trees and many flowers. There were signs that read: “Elizabeth, will you,” and when Elizabeth turned around, Jay kneeled on one knee and asked her to marry him. She excitedly said yes. She knew he was the man of her dreams, the man she was meant to be with.
VENUE LOVE: For the couple and their families, it was important for them to get married in a Catholic church. St. Ann had a special place in Elizabeth’s heart because it was the church where her family gathered to be together. The Warwick staff was helpful, and wanted to make the wedding and stay enjoyable and memorable. Both the style of the venue and staff made this the perfect reception venue.
HUES SHE USED: Elizabeth believed just because it was fall, didn’t mean she couldn’t have tons of pink! To make the wedding their own, a mixture of blush pink with ivory, white and gold was perfect for them. Their goal was to have as many florals as possible that complemented their venue space while paying homage to their engagement at the Dallas Arboretum.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: The bridal bouquet was filled with a variety of blush and ivory blooms that included garden roses, spray roses, dahlias, white and blush ranunculus, and various greenery. The bouquet was fastened with ivory ribbon and a rosary passed down to Elizabeth from her family as well as her sorority badge and Jay’s fraternity badge. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were each fastened with gold ribbon and had blush pink and white garden and spray roses, with white hydrangeas, ranunculus and greenery.
SAVORY SWEETS: Provided by Delicious Cakes, the couple had a seven-tier cake in hues of blush pinks, ivory designs and gold finishes topped with flowers from Stems of Dallas. The cake had three flavors: German chocolate with coconut frosting, red velvet with cream cheese filling, and princess flavor with raspberry filling. The groom’s cake was a Batman-inspired cake, which was Italian cream with chocolate filling.
