Erin Murphy and Tucker Mullens’ Kate Spade Inspired North Texas Wedding

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Erin and Tucker met in a Spanish class at Tarleton State University. They quickly became friends, class partners and later dated after college.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Tucker surprised Erin with tickets to visit California, and they left a couple of days later to go on a camping trip in the Redwood State Parks and on the coast. On the first day of the camping trip, they stopped in a section of the redwood forest near Oregon and began to hike the trails. They came upon a tree that Erin wanted to attempt to climb, which Tucker encouraged her to do. While climbing the tree, Tucker asked her to stop so he could take a picture of her. As she turned around, he was kneeling on one knee and holding an engagement ring. She was so surprised and excitedly said yes!

THE SETTING: Erin and Tucker chose to get married at Shady Oaks Country Club. The ceremony space outside has beautiful views of the prettiest hole on the golf course, and the ballroom was spacious and stunning. They chose the location because Erin’s parents had been married there many years before.

HUES SHE USED: Inspired by Kate Spade, Erin wanted their wedding to have a chic look with a modern, clean touch. Shades of pink, black, white, gold with pops of dark burgundy and touches of fresh greenery helped to beautifully achieve this look.

SAVORY SWEETS: The cake from Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery was four tiers with alternating layers of almond and vanilla flavors, filled with either blackberry and cream cheese, or vanilla buttercream filling. It was adorned with four pink magnolias with pink stamen, black fondant ribbon trim and one gold glittered tier. It was displayed on a gold-mirrored table with a fresh floral picture frame as a backdrop.
