While it’s nearly impossible to pick out our favorites, we spotted some emerging trends that just may be the perfect contenders for your wedding day look! Read on for our top picks and re-watch all the fashion week buzz on our Instagram highlights!
Power Colors
This upcoming season, the non-traditional struck a true power pose on the runways in the form of statement-making gowns in colors quite outside the norm. For the boldest of brides, you’ll soon see a variety of richly hued options to break up the traditional ivory/white options, most notably in the form of red, bright pink, blue and even black! Even if you’re not ready to party with the idea of a white wedding dress, consider this an option to note for a rehearsal dinner statement, or perhaps a fun reception second dress. This little Ines di Santo organza and feather frock would be perfect for a few spins around the after party dance floor, too! Look for it soon at Stanley Korshak and The Bridal Salon at Neiman Marcus!
Statement Shoulders
While seasons past and present have advanced the off shoulder silhouette into a staple shape, a new look this season notably taken from ready-to-wear collections made its way across the runways of quite a few designers: the puff shoulder. With nods to an 80s revival, you’ll find current versions of this style to reflect more of a structured shape than those of yesteryear, adding a boldly modern touch for the more fashion-forward bride! We love the addition of a plunging neckline and belt on this Pronovias take for an even more stylish appeal. Find this style in-store soon at Patsy’s Bridal Boutique, StarDust Celebrations and Bridal Boutique!
Bridal Tailoring
While punchy hues and sharp shoulders may suit some brides, others are clearly after a more timeless yet minimalistic look for their wedding day attire, as noted across many collections showing cleaner lines and tailored shapes. The bridal blazer was a standout takeaway this season, shown over bias cut silk slips, A-line sheaths or paired back to pants and extremely beautiful embellished veils, as exhibited here with Justin Alexander’s take. Again, certainly a style to consider for rehearsal dinners, reception changes and after parties, and even more perfect thrown over a little dress for a post-wedding brunch! Look out for this (and all the other amazing styles) in stores soon at Bridal Boutique!
