Full of all the things that make New York City beautiful, this gold and black wedding held at D’Vine Grace Vineyard is so elegant and classy with touches of whimsical fun throughout! Paige and Jerrod’s love story started out serendipitously on the east coast when they were both disappointed by the same closed corner store in Washington D.C. Luckily for Paige and her friend, Jerrod said he knew there was another store one block up and offered to give them a ride. They exchanged numbers, went on their first date to a poetry show few months later, and the rest was history! Celebrating with their family and friends, these two commemorated their time living in NYC with a tastefully themed wedding, complete with famous street signs of New York as table numbers and Metro subway-style escort cards with guests’ names on them. How sweet! Gold chiavari chairs from POSH Couture Rentals make black tablescapes pop as well as opulent crystal holding floating candles to set the mood! Bartending and catering provided by D’Vine Grace Vineyards as well means even fewer vendors for you to have to keep up with! Let the professionals worry about sips and sweets while you worry about having fun on your wedding! We love the incorporation of wedding traditions and Paige and Jerrod partook in a few that were meaningful to them, such as lighting a unity candle together as well as jumping the broom. “We are both African Americans and wanted to pay homage to our history in America,” Paige said. “The broom we used is a family heirloom.” In addition to honoring traditions, Paige and Jerrod also started a new one of their own. Both being first-generation college graduates, these newlyweds were proud to completely finance the wedding of their dreams on their own, in full. And they absolutely did a fantastic job! We don’t see how this gold and black NYC themed wedding captured by Lorena Burns Photography and Films could be any more stunning. Read on for a note from the bride about the inspiration behind the design for their wedding and how it was carried out throughout these gorgeous gold and black wedding scenes. Cheers to Paige and Jerrod!

From the bride: “Jerrod is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and we decided to have our wedding in my hometown of McKinney, Texas. We incorporated a New York City theme to add a little flavor to our Texas wedding. We both lived in NYC and we love everything about the city! Instead of using traditional table numbers and escort cards we incorporated our favorite NYC neighborhoods and wrote guest names on Metro subway cards.”
