Kate Spade Inspired North Texas Wedding Captured by Charla Storey | Alix + Jared

SWEET BEGINNINGS: After originally being introduced by Jared’s sister, Alix and Jared went on a few dates before Alix moved to Austin. It wasn’t until Alix returned to Dallas a few years later that the couple reconnected! After a few more dates, their relationship finally began when Jared asked Alix to be his girlfriend while sitting on a bench beneath Big Tex in Fair Park.

A PERFECT PROPOSAL: Journey’s “Faithfully” has always been Alix and Jared’s song, so when they found out Journey would be playing at WinStar, the couple bought tickets immediately. When the piano intro to “Faithfully” started at the concert, Jared grabbed Alix’s hand and pulled her into the aisle to dance and wrapped his arms around her. When she turned around, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

THE SETTING: The ceremony was performed on a large tiered wooden deck in the pool courtyard of the NYLO. Cocktail hour was held on the adjacent patio and the reception was inside the gorgeous ballroom with painted brick and an exposed ceiling. The industrial hotel with playful furniture, artwork and a bold use of color attracted Alix to the space. The details of the NYLO explained the couple perfectly, and they knew it was the perfect space for their big day.

KADE SPADE INSPIRATION: Alix and Jared’s Kate Spade-inspired modern wedding incorporated gorgeous hues of black, white and gold with bold pink, red and green accents. The pop of color was perfect with the venue and the gold glitter pulled everything together flawlessly.

SAVORY SWEETS: Alix and Jared’s four-tier round cake by Delicious Cakes was not only delicious but also included fantastic detailing like edible gold sequins. The cake topper was a quote from the bride’s favorite movie, Toy Story, that read, “To Infinity and Beyond” in gold glitter cursive!
