La Luna: Wedding Fashion for the Edgy, Modern Bride

We’re simply over the moon about our latest fashion editorial, La Luna: a stunning collection of statement gowns for the edgy, modern bride, captured artfully in photos by Laning Photography and on video by Ocular Pop in a wild-spirited take on southwestern style. Lazy S Hacienda made the perfect backdrop for this editorial where boho-inspired installations from Alba Dahlia Floral set the mood for earthy scenes we won’t soon forget. Our model bride was breathtaking in each of the four statement bridal gowns from these local bridal boutiques (see credits for each below), and her wedding day looks were accented with dreamy veils from Christian Joy Bridal, as well. Paired with femme and fierce bridal makeup looks, Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup styled our model with soft, cool-girl waves that later piled into an elegant, effortless updo, both perfectly complementing the romantic vibe she carried in each of the four scenes.

Grace Loves Lace – “Estelle” Gown

Made with buttery soft, stretch crepe, this gown exudes confidence and beauty. With an incredibly supportive bust and interchangeable silk and pearl trim straps, you’ll be able to dance the entire night away in confidence. Featuring a decadent, dramatic skirt and clean, simple lines, “Estelle” is a polished design that is refined and effortless.

From Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup: “We went with a classic half-up with a few simple twists that showed off our model’s stunning features and worked beautifully with the luxe veil for a romantic look. I added a wash of shimmery bronze and blush tones to the eyes and added a subtle cat eyeliner in classic black. Cheeks and lips in a warm rose completed the look.”

Leann’s Bridal – Estee’ Couture

A trumpet silhouette, feathered herringbone pattern beading details and an illusion collar neckline are just a few of the features that make this gown so dreamy and bold. All eyes will surely be on you in this artsy and stylish bridal gown.

From Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup: “Her hair was fashioned into a woven boho ‘braid’ that is actually a series of twisted ponytails with pieces left loose and volume at the crown. Eyes glowed with a wash of rose gold shimmer and smudged charcoal liner on upper and lower lash lines for extra definition, plus a pair of major faux mink lashes for drama. Her cheeks were bronzed and shimmery and lips were finished with a bold wine shade. I added a bit more brow powder to balance the eyes and frame the face.”

LuLu’s Bridal – Mikaella Bridal “MB2215” Style

Elegant and simple without neglecting attention to detail, this darling V-neckline Mikaella Lace bodice is lined in nude Italian tulle with spaghetti straps. The style’s V-shaped armholes are so flattering while allowing for movement and also features a removable beaded belt at the waist. What’s not to love about this fit and flare lace skirt with a romantic, scalloped hem!

From Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup: “Look #1 consisted of soft waves, golden peachy eyes, cheeks and lips. This look was warm, soft and had a relaxed feel – beachy waves to show off Isabel’s glossy texture, and warm ginger shades on lips and cheeks, buffed out coffee liner, fluffy lashes and a peachy nude lip to finish. It was the perfect counterpart to the elegant gown and fringed jacket!”

Patsy’s, A Bridal Boutique – All Who Wander “Jett” Gown

This All Who Wander gown features such an array of stunning detail and softly flowing romance for the casual bride. Intricate embroidery creates highly detailed linear patterns, including tiny heart shapes and dotted laces throughout the fabric which become even more apparent in the wide, billowing lace bell sleeves with scalloped detailing at the edge. In the back, a criss-cross lace-up strap detail bares your wild and free side with a twist. This gown was simply made for boho brides and is available with or without sleeves!

From Jennifer Trotter – Lip Service Makeup: “I loved the luxe 70s vibe with bold earrings and bell sleeves! Her hair was piled into a high updo with playful texture…such an elegant way to draw the eye up and show off cheekbones. A soft smoky eye in warm coffee with a little spike of warm peach made our model’s eyes glow, cheeks were warm and bronzed and for the lip? My favorite – a bold, deep crimson.”
