Ledina Prifti and Mark Esserman’s Gorgeous Ballroom Wedding at The Adolphus Hotel
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Ledina and Mark met in a college history class when they both discovered they wanted to transfer to Southern Methodist University. They became study partners and Ledina just knew that he was special. The next semester, they signed up for the same class and eventually began talking every day. Ledina knew she was in love with him after their first date and that hew as her soul mate. They quickly began dating and the rest is history!
THE SETTING: The bride and groom chose The Adolphus Hotel as their wedding venue, and it was perfect for what they wanted. The Grand Ballroom was a stunning space for the ceremony, and the hall where Cocktail Hour was held allowed the ceremony space transformed into the reception area. The ceiling has gorgeous art, and the hanging chandeliers accented their wedding beautifully. Ledina has always loved the charm of The Adolphus Hotel, especially because the architecture is very antique and radiates grandeur.
HUES SHE USED: Ledina and Mark wanted the theme to be very classical with light color palettes to add to the elegance, so they chose the hues of blush, ivory and gold to create the perfect look.
AMAZING ALTAR: The chuppah was the focal point for their wedding ceremony and it was everything the couple dreamed it would be. The altar started with a white aisle runner leading to the white stage, and the white, sheer fabric draped the chuppah with a mass of white hydrangea, white roses and accents of greenery covering the top. There was also floral draping tie-backs on the corners, which were made of white and cream roses, white hydrangea and white orchids.
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: The couple wanted to incorporate both Jewish and Albanian traditions. To represent the Jewish customs, they stood under the chuppah and signed a ketubah, a Jewish wedding contract. They also incorporated the breaking of the glass and had the Jewish chair dance known as the hora at the reception. For the Albanian customs, Ledina and her dad danced to an Albanian song with traditional dance moves. They also played multiple Albanian songs throughout the night and everyone joined in on the dancing!
