Lauren and Dan met on Labor Day 2012 while Lauren was living and working in Dallas, and Dan had recently moved to Dallas from England for work. Each had a friend who had invited them separately to The Flying Saucer in Addison for a night out. When the Lauren and one of her future-bridesmaids showed up, a lot of the guys were sitting at the table with their laptops out doing a fantasy football draft. Dan and Lauren sat at opposite ends of the table but still managed to strike up a conversation with each other. Not being able to hear him very well, Laure moved down to the other end of the table next to him. The conversation was easy, intriguing and hasn’t stopped since!

Lauren and Dan prepared to leave for their annual trip to England to visit his family – what would ensue was the craziest day. When Lauren went to check the couple into their flight that morning, she was surprised to see it was cancelled! After franticly navigating the airline’s website, they were able to book the last two seats on a flight to Heathrow a couple of hours early. They rushed to the airport to make the earlier flight. Once they landed, Dan picked up the rental car, and they headed into London. About five minutes after they arrived in the city – BAM! A London cab rear-ended the rental car, putting the couple way behind schedule. They then got lost trying to find the hotel. After a stressful and rushed day, they unwound over a glass of wine and some delicious curry in the cutest restaurant that Dan had booked. After, they headed to catch the Tube back to the hotel, but Dan passed the entrance, told Lauren he had a surprise and pulled out a lock and key. She immediately realized what they were going to do. The year before Lauren had surprised Dan with a ‘love lock’ that they locked to the Millennium Bridge and threw the keys into the water. This time, he surprised her so they could go back to look for their old lock and put a new one on. The couple scouted out where to put the lock – together they secured the lock and tossed the keys in the Thames. Next thing Lauren knew, Dan grabbed her hands and knelt down on one knee to ask Lauren to spend the rest of her life with him.

Lauren and Dan will be married this spring at Robert Carr Chapel in Forth Worth with a reception to follow at Ashton Depot. Congrats to this darling duo and thanks to Jessica Gold Photography for sharing these absolutely stunning engagement photos with us!
