North Texas Wedding at Aristide Captured by Ben Q. Photography | Emily + Erik

PERFECT PROPOSAL: The couple moved to Dallas in January 2015 where they were settling in nicely. Emily knew Erik was serious about getting engaged, but thought it would be at least another six months to a year before he would pop the question. Little did Emily know that he had the whole thing planned to a “T.” One Saturday, he told her that he had a picnic planned at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. This wasn’t unusual because he always planned cute date ideas in places they had never been. When they arrived at the Poetry Garden inside the arboretum, someone was in the exact area where he “wanted to eat lunch.” As he grew impatient, the area finally cleared up. As soon as Emily turned around to set her purse down, he was already on one knee. Of course, she said yes!

THE SETTING: The bride fell in love with Aristide after seeing the venue in a magazine. Being from out of state, the venue made her think of a storybook from her childhood. She loved how it evokes a feeling of romance with rustic Italian charm. Emily loved the outdoor area and all of the lush greenery surrounding it, which made the venue feel exclusively private. In addition, she loved the stone detailing and exposed wood inside. The bridal suite was large and comfortable with couches, settees and numerous mirrors. She also loved that she could have an outdoor ceremony and reception in the same venue so out-of-town guests didn’t have to travel that day.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: Emily’s favorite moment was standing with Erik at the altar. Most of the day rushed by in a massive blur, but the 20 minutes they stood side-by-side made for a clear and memorable moment.

They were helpful in positioning the couple, their families and the wedding party for pictures, along with keeping the photography process upbeat and quick.
