SWEET BEGINNINGS: Evoni and Oliver met in high school. Although they attended rival high schools, they would see each other at Evoni and Oliver’s brother’s track meets and their younger brothers’ pee-wee football games. Oliver was so sweet and shy but would always go over to Evoni and say hi. They dated the summer after Evoni graduated high school. After the summer was over, Oliver went back to college at Virginia Tech, and Evoni stayed in Texas for college. They remained friends and would hang out every time Oliver came home from college. After life, relationships and even the arrival of Evoni’s sweet baby, Cheyenne, Oliver eventually moved back to Texas after graduating and started working in Dallas. After Evoni graduated, she attended graduate school at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and started to ride the train to school. Little did she know that Oliver also rode the train to work. One day while waiting for the train, they spotted each other and began catching up. Oliver and Evoni would see each other several times a week and sit next to each other on the train to work and school. Eventually they began hanging out again and Oliver suggested they start dating. Evoni would always tell him no, worried they would ruin their friendship, but Oliver was persistent. She eventually said yes to a date, and the rest is history!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Oliver proposed to Evoni under a little white gazebo surrounded by beautiful Christmas lights in the middle of downtown Grapevine. He had a photographer taking pictures the whole time, and Evoni didn’t even know it.
THE SETTING: Oliver and Evoni searched for the perfect venue. Evoni was surprised to discover that Oliver was even more picky than she was. As they drove out to The Springs Event Center, Evoni thought there was no way Oliver would like the venue because of the distance from the city. However, once he saw it, he loved it! They both fell in love with the beautiful outdoor ceremony site and the smell of the fresh wood inside. The beautiful finishes of the site, including the chandeliers, were a bonus. The event center even had a longhorn who lived on the property and made an appearance for the couple’s first look.
