North Texas Wedding at The White Sparrow Barn from Grit + Gold | Sarah + Kyle

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Sarah first met Kyle’s sister, Ashley, when the two worked at Pine Cove Christian Camps in 2009, and they quickly became good friends. Sarah would see Kyle over at Ashley’s house every so often, and they would have game nights or just hang out. They always seemed to have an eye for each other, but Kyle was a few years younger and the timing wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t until Kyle’s sister got married in May of 2014 that they finally made that connection. Kyle was a groomsmen, and Sarah was a bridesmaid. It was that night, after a lot of dancing and the stanky leg, that sparks flew and they started dating.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Sarah and Kyle got engaged February 20, at the same place where sparks first flew for them – at the beautiful estate where his sister’s wedding took place. They had planned to go out to dinner in Dallas, but they ended up in Farmer’s Branch. The most beautiful tree was strung with hanging twinkle lights, and a table was decorated with some of Sarah’s favorite flowers and pictures of memories they had shared. Kyle had written a letter to Sarah, and at the end he was on one knee. They had a photographer and a videographer there to capture the whole thing. Afterward, Kyle also surprised Sarah with an engagement party with all of their family and best friends.

THE SETTING: Sarah and Kyle were married inside the White Sparrow Barn in front of the barn doors. They had toured the venue when it was still under construction, but from the moment Sarah stepped foot inside, she knew she would get married there. The beautiful windows let in gorgeous natural light, and the white washed walls set the perfect scene. Their florist had hung beautiful green wreaths and a banner of one of their favorite scriptures made by Goldie Design Co. as a backdrop.

HUES TO USE: Sarah and Kyle wanted their wedding to have a very organic and whimsical feel. Sarah wanted a clean and light style with lots of greenery. They used hues of burgundy, light pinks and touches of gold.
