PERFECT PROPOSAL: Since Alex and Ben’s story began at Texas Tech, it was only fitting that Ben proposed on campus. He took Alex to campus for a home game, and he got down on one knee at the iconic Texas Tech Seal and asked her to marry him. A photographer was hiding to capture the whole thing! After the proposal, Alex and Ben went to tailgate with their friends who had set up balloons and a champagne toast to celebrate!

HUES SHE USED: Alex was really drawn to Marsala from the get-go. She loved how romantic and rich the color is. With that as the base, Alex’s wedding planner, Elisabeth Landry, helped build a color scheme.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: An hour into the reception, the band told guests to head outside. When the first firework went off, Alex couldn’t believe it! She had always wanted fireworks at her wedding, but Ben said he had reached out to a number of fireworks companies and everyone was booked that weekend. Little did she know that was all a ploy for Ben to surprise her with the best gift on their wedding day!

DELICIOUS DISHES: The bride and groom wanted their food to be unique. They worked with Vestals Catering to create a menu that featured all their favorite flavors. They served a salad with a mix of butter leaf, arugula and romaine lettuce, poached pear, bleu cheese, candied walnuts, and maple vinaigrette. They also served warm asparagus, haricot verts and roasted carrots with basil garlic gutter. For the main course, they served buffalo steaks, venison sausage and herb-roasted chicken. They also included a Gulf Shrimp Risotto station, which was a huge hit!

SPECIAL TOUCHES: Alex and Ben served signature cocktails named after their two sweet pups, Daisy and Lily. Both cocktails featured Tito’s vodka. The pair had a sign painted with Daisy and Lily’s pictures on it to explain the signature cocktails to guests.
