Romantic Fall North Texas Wedding at Hickory Street Annex | Corinne + Benton
July 15
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Corinne and Ben met while working at an advertising agency in Oklahoma City. They were both in assistant roles, tracking down executives and setting up presentations. It wasn’t until Corinne switched agencies and Ben moved to Dallas that they began dating, and Corinne started making regular trips south on I-35.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Ben proposed three years later at the couple’s favorite Dallas spot, Lee Park, where they are both members of the Junior Conservancy. He planned it perfectly! Corinne’s family was in town from Oklahoma City and he informed them he was going to pop the question the following weekend when the couple would be vacationing in Chicago. Corinne was 100% sure he was going to propose on the trip; she even bought a dress! Instead, he surprised everyone by getting on one knee right there in Dallas with Corinne’s sister acting as photographer. It turns out Corinne’s sister, closest friends and family were in on the plan, and met them at Vino 100 after the proposal for a private engagement party to celebrate. Tricking Corinne’s mom was the secret to his success – she wouldn’t have been able to keep the secret to herself!
AMAZING ALTAR: To frame the space, R Love Floral & Events used hanging greenery in a drape-like fashion directly behind Corinne and Ben. They had the sun shining in from the southwest, and it shined through lace curtains that Corinne’s mom and aunt sewed to accent the altar.
SAVORY SWEETS: Corinne and Ben worked with Sugar Bee Sweets Bakery who created a beautiful nearly naked, two-tiered red velvet cake adorned with flowers. They also had salted caramel pudding shooters, caramel apples and M&Ms with a photo of their Boston terrier printed on them.
VENDOR LOVE: Corinne felt so blessed to work with Britney Tarno of The Tarnos. Britney was there throughout the entire journey and was an absolute gem. All of Corinne’s bridesmaids and family live in Oklahoma City, so Britney stood in for them often. She helped Corinne get ready for bridals, made sure she drank plenty of water at the reception, and Britney’s husband even dog-sat during their engagement and bridal shoots. Britney made Corinne feel comfortable and they had so much fun!
