Romantic Garden Inspired Wedding at Hickory Street Annex | Jennifer + John
November 29
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Jennifer is an Aggie and John is a Longhorn. Jennifer was watching Texas A&M play in the Cotton Bowl when John squeezed in next to her to order a drink. He noticed her intense dedication to the game and made conversation by teasing her about the Aggies. Needless to say, she fell for it and they struck up a conversation. They ended up talking the rest of the night and she found herself hardly even paying attention to the game!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Every Friday night, Jennifer and John have a date night at their favorite restaurant. One Friday night after dinner, John insisted they stop at the store and get some champagne before heading home to watch a movie. When they got back to Jennifer’s apartment she had just taken off her jewelry when she turned to find John on one knee asking her to marry him. John hadn’t planned on proposing until a vacation they had planned a month later, but he had the ring with him, the moment felt right and he decided he just couldn’t wait any longer. So he proposed right there in her living room after their Friday night tradition!
THE SETTING: Hickory Street Annex is a gorgeous venue. It’s industrial yet romantic. It is full of giant windows that showcase the city skyline and has beautiful industrial elements from exposed beams to brick walls. Jennifer and John fell in love with the venue the moment they walked in, and loved the idea of having the ceremony and the reception in one place.
ORGANIC ROMANTIC: Jennifer wanted to emphasize a romantic feel by illuminating the entire ceremony almost entirely by candles. Their wedding could be described as a romantic, garden-inspired organic wedding. Inspired by fall colors being paired with romantic neutrals, Jennifer used hues of navy and gray, with accents of purple and crimson.
VENDOR LOVE: Jennifer and John loved working with Jen Rios of Jen Rios Weddings because she surpassed all their expectations. Jennifer needed help keeping track of all the details and staying on a budget, all while keeping the look cohesive and perfect. Jennifer says that Jen Rios helped bring her vision to life by defining her style and finding what she was drawn to and then turning it into something completely unique.
