Kortni Ragan and Austin Jeske’s romantic North Texas chapel wedding planned by House of Tales Events was the perfect setting for soft neutrals and lush florals from Dr. Delphinum Designs & Events.

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Kortni was fresh out of college working in oilfield sales out of West Texas and Austin was a petroleum engineer. One August day, Austin just happened to be on a field rotation at the same rig Kortni was assigned. It was during the safety orientation video that Austin began his pursuit. Kortni knew from his persistent flirting that he was interested in her, what she didn’t know was that he called his dad that very day and told him he met his future wife.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: For Kortni’s 25th birthday celebration, Austin had more than just brunch planned. After eating at Smoke, Austin took Kortni to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden where he proposed with rose petals and champagne. After she said yes, both pairs of parents popped out from around the corner and rushed over to congratulate the future Mr. and Mrs.

HUES SHE USED: Kortni decided to go with the tones of soft neutrals such as blush, champagne and ivory with touches of gold and mercury. Signage incorporated hints of navy blue as a nod to the groom and his men that were dressed in navy suits. Greenery in all floral displays was also used to add pops of natural color.

DELICIOUS DISHES: Passed hors d’oeuvres and an elaborate cheese and charcuterie display set the bar high and did not disappoint! Salad plates topped with beautiful strawberries, candied nuts and a side of dressing in shot glasses was set on every table. Filet mignon with brown sugar sweet potatoes and spring veggies had mouths watering all across the room. Family-style platters of chicken and dishes with variations of mac and cheese – a favorite of the groom! – were passed around the tables while guests raved about the food.
