Romantic North Texas Wedding at Dallas Arboretum | Brooke + Christopher

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Brooke and Chris met through mutual friends. Each of their friends had been telling them about the other person for a while but their paths never crossed. Finally the four of them went out for dinner and drinks, and the couple have been together ever since! Brooke and Chris feel so lucky that they were able to marry their best friend.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Brooke is not easy to surprise and Chris was dead set on surprising her. He decided to start the evening in a way she would never expect the night of the proposal to begin – at his favorite local pizza place! Chris had coordinated with a friend to text Brooke during dinner to invite them to the wine bar next door. Chris was so calm during dinner that Brooke had no idea something was up. When they got to the winery, Chris had the private room decorated with flowers and photos of the pair on display, and that’s where he popped the question. He had arranged for a celebration afterward with family and close friends.

ROMANTIC GARDEN: The bride wanted a romantic garden wedding with an elegant feel. She opted for soft colors such as cream and blush to pair with gold as well as color accents from the florals that included greenery and deeper pinks.

THE SETTING: When the couple started wedding planning, they wanted as much of the day as possible to be outside. Luckily, the gorgeous Dallas Arboretum was a logical choice. Brooke and Chris toured the venue and fell in love with the Camp House and the beautiful view overlooking White Rock Lake. They liked that both the ceremony and reception would be outdoors, with tables on the lawn of the Camp House and the dance floor under the tented terrace.

SAVORY SWEETS: Brooke wanted a cake with printed layers so she sought the help of Jar Cakery. She chose a watercolor floral print that echoed the coral charm peonies in the bridesmaids’ bouquets. The bottom tier was accented with shimmering gold and there were two delicious flavors – chocolate with marshmallow filling and almond with raspberry filling.
