Rough Creek Lodge – Casual Rustic Elegance

Welcome to Rough Creek Lodge – named one of the “Top 5 Places in the World to Get Married” by Peter Greenberg of the CBS Early Show!  This gorgeous wedding was captured by Edmonson Photography and we’re in love with this charming, rustic venue nestled on 11,000 acres in the foothills of the picturesque Texas Hill Country in Glen Rose, Texas, just a quick 90 minute drive from Dallas.  It’s well worth the drive and this destination venue is a spectacular place to get away from it all – a true escape not too far from home!  This couple actually invited their guests to Rough Creek Lodge to spend the entire weekend and had tons of activities for them to enjoy like zip lining, four wheeling, horseback riding, biking and more – and did we mention they have a relaxing spa on property?!  All guests stayed on site at Rough Creek Lodge, which boasts 57 stylish guestrooms and suites, four exclusive cabins and two opulent guest houses with every square inch decorated in style to create a feel of rustic elegance.

On the wedding day, the ceremony was held indoors at the chapel on site and then guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the patio before going inside to the beautiful ballroom for a grand seated dinner!  We love all of the gorgeous tenting outside housing banquettes, ottomons and comfy bench seating for guests to relax and what better way to kick off the party than with a fireworks show!  This fabulous fete was coordinated by the team at DFW Events, décor by DFW Events and Nelson Robinson, specialty lighting and entertainment by Beyond, linens from BBJ Linen, tenting from Raj Tents and Ducky Bob’s and all florals by Rusty Glenn Designs.  Enjoy!
