Shelby Russell Weds Andrew Douglas | Rustic Winter Wedding from Meggie Taylor Photography
May 29
The temps may have been chilly, but each and every detail from Shelby and Andrew’s rustic winter wedding captured by Meggie Taylor Photography was heart warming! Hidden Pines Chapel in Highland Village was the perfect venue for their seasonal nuptials, and the stunning cake by The Jenny Layne Bakery is almost too pretty to eat! Cheers to the happy couple!

Shelby and Andrew met in 2009 through a Facebook page dedicated to their dormitory. The pair chatted for a few weeks before moving into the dorms and have been together ever since!
Seven years later, Andrew invited Shelby on a walk along the Woodlands Waterway before they were to meet her parents for dinner – or so she thought! Andrew took her back to the place where he first asked Shelby to be his girlfriend and proposed. On top of that excitement, Andrew furthered the surprise by planning an engagement party at The Refuge where all their friends and close family celebrated!
The couple’s nuptials took place the day after the “big snow of 2017.” Despite chilly temperatures, their day went flawlessly thanks to Meggie Taylor. Shelby’s favorite moment from their wedding was when she and Andrew turned to face their loved ones as they were announced as husband and wife. The couple spent the rest of the evening relaxing with food, drinks, dancing and mingling.
