For June, we’re showcasing a formal backyard party in a traditional style. White florals with green and blue accents make this wedding timeless and classic. Keep scrolling to discover McKenna and Dalton’s November 18, 2023 nuptials!

How the Couple Met

Middle school sweethearts, Dalton and McKenna’s love story began in 7th grade English class. The two were always great friends and even dated for some time while in high school before deciding to remain friends. After graduation, both McKenna and Dalton moved down to Austin to attend the University of  Texas.

While there, they found themselves gravitating towards the same friend group. During senior year of college, the couple gave dating another shot, and they have been together ever since! “We feel so lucky to have such a long history together and to have shared so many big life moments alongside each other,” writes the bride.

The Wedding Day

McKenna and Dalton’s Dallas wedding celebration began with luxurious accommodations for friends and family at Hotel Crescent Court. After a beautiful church ceremony adorned with florals from Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe, the newlyweds drove off to their reception at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

“Dalton’s grandfather passed away when we were in high school and he left him his 1955 Thunderbird,” writes the bride. “We knew we wanted to use the car in the wedding so Dalton spent months getting it up and running again.”

The two made the drive from the church to the reception successfully but did require a little pushing from the groomsmen when trying to leave that night! Nevertheless, it was very special to McKenna and Dalton to have the groom’s grandfather a part of their special day.

The bride honored her heritage by tying the promise ring her dad gave to her mom when they were in high school to her bouquet. “My parents had a very similar love story to mine and Dalton, and have gone on to have a very successful marriage,” writes McKenna. “I felt like this was a symbol of good luck for Dalton and I’s marriage.”

During the reception, the couple and their loved ones enjoyed a delicious meal crafted by Culinary Art Catering. Thanks to decor and rentals from Posh Couture Rentals, the space came to life in green, blue and white hues.

“Our wedding day was perfect — so many people told me it would fly by, but I felt like I was able to be fully present in every moment. It was so special to share it with family and friends from all stages of our life together,” writes the bride.

McKenna & Dalton’s Favorite Moment

“My favorite part of the day was driving away from the church after the ceremony with my new husband! We were both so giddy with excitement and it was nice to have a moment just to ourselves as Dalton drove us to the reception. We sped away in his grandfather’s ’55 Thunderbird with cans jingling behind us and fellow drivers honking in congratulations. It was an overwhelming feeling of excitement, love, relief and joy.”
