Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across North Texas, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

For May, we’re showcasing a timeless, downtown wedding. Jennifer and Tony tied the knot on October 7, 2023, surrounded by white, touches of gold and pops of blue!

How the Couple Met

Jennifer and Tony’s love began while the world was in lockdown. Connected only by technology, the two built their relationship through text messages, which eventually turned into long phone calls.

By February 2021, the pair secured an in-person date on Rodeo Goat’s chilly patio. Despite the cold weather, Jennifer and Tony’s feelings for each other grew even warmer. Bonding over their love for friends and family, the couple dated for two years before Tony popped the question in Grapevine, Texas.

The Wedding Day

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Adolphus Hotel, Jennifer and Tony’s wedding emitted a classic and traditional beauty. Aside from its elegance, the hotel also provided the couple and their guests a convenient place to stay before the couple said “I do.”

Beginning the day with getting ready, the bride and her ladies received the ultimate hair and makeup treatment from Jennifer Trotter — Lip Service Makeup. After a few photos, Jennifer slipped into her gown from Patsy’s, A Bridal Boutique, which featured a whimsical bow on the back!

After sharing a first look, the couple was married by Tony’s aunt before the space was flipped for the reception. Decked out in decor and rentals from BBJ La Tavola, the space exuded a refined opulence. Jennifer and Tony’s details went beyond appearance, however.

“When we planned our wedding, we wanted to focus on surrounding ourselves with and honoring those that have supported us,” Jennifer writes. “We incorporated our families and friends into all aspects of our wedding.”

A few ways Jennifer and Tony (who is half Persian and half Hispanic) honored their families included a beautiful Sofreh table created by Tony’s family. The table is a Persian tradition, and the items on the table represent a couple’s new and happy life together. Additionally, the couple’s first dance was to “Mi Linda Esposa,” a mariachi love song that Tony’s grandfather used to sing to his grandmother.

It all came together under the direction of Shonna Gainey of Weddings By Stardust. “Our wedding planner was amazing in executing all our crazy ideas,” says the bride. “She worked tirelessly with my mom to make every little detail stand out.” Thanks to the talented videographers at Reverent Wedding Films, Jennier and Tony get to relive their special day over and over again!

Jennifer & Tony’s Favorite Moment

“A personal highlight for me was surprising Tony with a table of special cookies made at a favorite bakery from Orlando and his family’s Mexican wedding cookies. Tony’s highlight was surprising me with a dance with his groomsmen and dancing to traditional Persian songs with his family.”
