Kiley Trent and Mac Kelly’s Luxe DFW Ballroom Wedding Captured by Kiss Me For Eternity
Not far from her home, Kiley experienced one of life’s unforgettable moments. “It was one of those moments that you wait for so long to really happen and when it does you don’t really want it to end,” she remembers. It was the best birthday morning she’d ever had. White Rock Lake was stunning, and everything seemed even more serene than usual. She’d found it a bit odd that on her birthday, her friends weren’t calling her to go to breakfast or coffee. Everything was a bit quiet, but it was still early. Kiley and Mac had been together since high school and had shared many birthdays together before. Kiley loved Mac’s caring, friendly, and easy going personality. “Kiley is the most kind, passionate, and loving person I know. She is my best friend and would do anything for me,” Mac says. Mac had woken her up early to walk by the lake. They made their way to a spot where Mac had set up a breakfast picnic. Kiley was delighted to see what he’d planned with breakfast, but was absolutely surprised by the next part of his plan. “Even though I knew she would say yes I was still so nervous,” Mac remembers. Mac got down on bended knee and asked Kiley to spend the rest of her life with him. Since Kiley and Mac were high school sweethearts, the engagement was something that had been a long time coming. Both of them were so thrilled for the moment to finally happen. “I was SO excited! We had been dating for 8 years and living separately for a year, so I was beyond ecstatic to finally be engaged and start our life together,” Kiley remembers. Mac’s sister was hiding, taking pictures of the proposal. It made for another great birthday and a new milestone to celebrate.
When it came to planning the wedding, the couple wanted a great setting for friends and family to have a fun time. They also wanted everyone to be together the whole day. “Having the ceremony and reception all at one place was important. I did not want there to be a long downtime or break between events,” Mac says. After visiting a few places, they found exactly what they were looking for at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Kiley and Mac hired Jordan Payne Events to coordinate all the details of the big day. Music was also very important to the couple, and they quickly booked the Emerald City All Stars. “I planned our entire wedding date around the availability of Emerald City, so they were one of my favorite parts because they are one of the best bands and really know how to keep the dancing going all night,” Kiley says.
More than 130 friends and family gathered at half past six on June 11, 2016 to witness the union of Kiley Trent and Mac Kelly. The entire wedding was inspired by a love in the family of jewelry. Kiley’s dad is a jeweler in Dallas. Just like the invitations that looked like agate, the venue was sprinkled with different rock and crystal elements. Guests were able to write “well wishes” for the bride and groom on pieces of agate. Ivory was everywhere. Ivory ribbon cascaded down the wall in thick waves of fabric. Creamy roses crowned tables, and miniature white lamps radiated light from hanging green and ivory floral arrangements. The bridesmaids looked angelic in floor-length ivory gowns, and the groomsmen looked dapper in tuxes with white dinner jackets and black bow ties. The bride was so detailed in the jewelry details that she had custom cufflinks and boutonnieres made for the men. Darling little flower girls sashayed down the aisle in ivory dresses carrying a “Here Comes the Bride” banner. When the doors opened for the bride to make her entrance, everyone turned and beamed. She was stunning. “It is such a surreal moment, and everyone around me could sense just how happy I was. Most people cry or are emotional. While my family and friends were, I was actually beyond happy,” Kiley says.
Escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline and tiers of tulle detail on the skirt by designer Hayley Paige. She wore her blonde hair swept up to show off a gorgeous jeweled bolero, also by Hayley Paige. “I fell in love with this [bolero] long before I even found a dress. I waited until a Hayley Paige trunk show came to town so I could try it on and find a dress that complemented it,” Kiley says. Another unique part of the bride’s ensemble was the veil she wore, which was her mother’s. The ceremony was extravagant with all the luxe details, yet intimate at the same time with the warm sounds of the choir singing throughout. The couple exchanged vows and rings as guests dabbed away tears of joy with handmade handkerchiefs made by the bride. The beautiful ceremony came to a close when the groom kissed his bride, uniting the high school sweethearts in marriage.
The reception was a creamy wonderland. Elegant arrangements of ivory roses towered over white china on long tables surrounded by gold chiavari chairs. The setting had a gilded look with gold pillars and candle holders. Guests were treated to a seated dinner with a big surprise after Kiley and Mac cut the cake. Kiley got on stage and thanked her dad for an amazing night and cued a series of gold confetti bombs. “I knew they were going to happen, but Kiley did not tell me when or how big they were going to be,” Mac says. Gold glitter flurried everywhere, revealing the next surprise: a dessert bar for Kiley’s dad. She and her mom had conspired to have all of her dad’s favorite sweet treats from cake pops to white chocolate mousse. “It was such a special surprise for him that I know he loved, and so did all of the guests too!” Kiley says.
The dance floor was the place to be at the reception. Kiley and Mac kicked things off with their first dance as husband and wife to “You are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. Emerald City kept everyone moving up until the big exit. Kiley’s family surprised them with a white Rolls Royce waiting to whisk them away. It was a thoughtful gesture at the end of a wedding so filled with family tradition and attention to detail at every turn. “I just was smiling ear to ear all night,” Kiley remembers. Everyone gathered outside to see the newlyweds off. Through a crowd of smiling faces – the people who had shaped their lives – Kiley and Mac experienced another one of life’s unforgettable moments, just like that morning of the proposal at White Rock Lake. The kind of moment that you wait so long for it to happen and don’t want to end.
